We offer a 7-step lawn fertilizer program designed to develop and maintain a top-quality lawn that will leave your neighbors green with envy!
Ultra Turf uses a granular blend of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers to deliver the required nutrients needed in spring. The potassium nutrient was increased to help strengthen grass and minimize diseases.
After conducting extensive testing in various Northern Virginia neighborhoods with different pre-emergent products, Ultra Turf selected a product known for its environmental safety. This product uses fewer active ingredients while providing extended control of crabgrass, goosegrass, and other annual weeds with a single application.
Improved endophyte enriched, certified fescue and/or matching grass seed is used to repair dead spots.
A fertilizer high in phosphorous is applied to seeded areas to encourage root development.
Broadleaf weed control, spot treated to weeds growing actively. Temperatures in March dictate the effectiveness of control. Spring weeds are better controlled by the second treatment (Spring Application in April/May).
Applied where needed to control unwanted spring weeds. Different weeds require different formulations to control. Our vehicles are equipped to adjust as needed based on what our trained technicians see when treating your specific lawn.
A heavy rate of high-quality granular fertilizer giving you two slow releases nitrogen sources specifically formulated for Ultra Turf customers. This fertilizer is blended to feed the lawn slowly as needed through the spring months.
Applied to combat crab and other weed grasses.
The appropriate control method for your pest(s) is applied in areas needed.
A treatment for grubs and other turf damaging insects is applied to areas of the lawn where evidence of sufficient numbers is present and will cause turf damage. * Season long grub control is offered at an additional cost.
If disease is present our technicians will apply the needed fungicide to remedy.
If needed, this will be sprayed if crab grass is persistent and present.
Oxalis, ground ivy, violets and nutsedge grass can be difficult weeds to exterminate. If present, the proper herbicide is applied to kill these weeds in your yard.
A 100% slow-release fertilizer is applied to feed gradually as needed through hot, dry summer months.
10 – 12 pounds per 5000 square foot of lawn is applied. Improved endophyte enriched fescues or matching grass is used to fix bare and thinning areas. If more seed is needed for larger yards, we will ensure you are aware of any added expense.
Is applied where needed. Note, we can not spray weeds in areas seeded until grass is established. Getting grass is more important at this time of year.
A granular blend of fertilizers is applied to keep new grass developing, build stronger roots, and develop a deeper green color.
Broad leaf weed control is applied where needed.
Important micro nutrients such as iron, calcium and magnesium are applied. Micro nutrients are in the grass plants cell walls helping the photosynthesis process. This also helps build microbial activity in your soil that is good for the environment.
A quick release high nitrogen granular fertilizer is applied. This fertilizer feeds the grass through the root zone, storing nutrients needed for early spring.
A complete lawn inspection of grass, shrubs, mulch beds, trees, etc. is done to prepare for your first treatment in the spring.
